Synopsis: This documentary about the soprano Pepita Embil (Getaria, Guipuzcoa, 1918 – Mexico, 1994) explores the fascinating life of a restless, passionate woman who lived in and for music, and whose son, Plácido Domingo, became perhaps the greatest operatic tenor of the 20th century.
Pepita Embil, who possessed one of the most talented and expressive voices in Spanish zarzuela, is practically an institution in Latin America, where she worked for over a quarter of a century, combining her singing career with her activities as a musical entrepreneur alongside her husband, the baritone Plácido Domingo Ferrer.
